Shield Drones are occasionally dropped alongside groups of bane soldiers, to protect them from physical damage.

Shield Drones are very susceptible to EMP damage, always take our the shield drone before engaging the Bane it is protecting. An EMP rifle at range is the weapon of choice as the shotgun variant wont actually damage any of the other units around the drone anyway.
