Item0494 Overview[]

Locate and destroy the Main Fuel Pump deep in the Timora Mines. You'll need a sustained burn of the nearby fuel lakes to create enough heat to ignite the pump. If the Bane security system kicks in, you'll need to disable it to complete your mission. Report back to Command Sergeant Simpson once you've accomplished the mission.

Item0490 Objective(s)[]

Destroy the Master Fuel Lake Pump[]

Item0454 Dialogue[]

Briefing[]

Command Sergeant Simpson:

"Destroy the fuel lake, destroy the mine, soldier. It's that easy."
"Way down deep in Timora Mines, the Base are storing vats of fuel for shipping offworld. If you really want to make a difference in there, you're going to have to destroy the main fuel pump. It's located under heavy guard in the deepest reaches of the mine."
"Taking it out won't be easy. It's going to require patience, power and persistence. The guards will be working against you and you're going to be limited to the tools at hand. There's a security system set up around the fuel stores as well. If the Bane manage to turn it on, you're going to need to locate and disarm the system."
"Good luck, soldier."

Debriefing[]

Item0473 Walkthrough[]

You will need to run through the Timora Mines instanced mission.

I had to do the following to ignite the fuel pools:

First jump into it then:

  • look down
  • jump up and down
  • fire at the pool

All at the same time (looks kinda strange, but worked after trying everything else for half an hour ;o)

I accomplished the same by standing in the pool, looking directly down, and slowly walking around until I saw a target reticle. Do this with a direct-fire weapon like a rifle or pistol. A shotgun will show a target easily, but will be unable to actually hit it. --Hyde 23:47, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

If the fuel lake looks like it has a force field above it, the security system has probably been activated. To turn it off, go up to the warden's lair, and make sure the 3 consoles (1 for each lake) is either unlit or green. This will deactivate the security and allow the lakes to ignite. -- Mtat 01:27, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

As far as anyone I've talked to is concerned, this quest is completely broken. No One can finish the quest, even with all the pools ignited. A bug report has been submitted and will hopefully get followed up on.
